The Legends play folk music, which tells a story, old or new. The group hails from all over North Carolina, but got its start at Campbell College. The current lineup consists of Rod Page, Alan Butler, David Hedrick, John Mott and Tommy Williams. Their connection to Robeson County is Rod Page, who lives with his wife, Joy, in Lumberton.
The Legends came into being with their first performance at a Fall Festival at Campbell College in 1961. After a rousing success at the Festival, they went on to play at local beauty pageants, fraternity parties, coffee clubs, and concerts. over the years through their concerts they have striven to keep folk music alive, sharing a wonderful aspect of our musical heritage.
